New trends in today’s school systems are making an impact on storage systems in learning environments. Space is continuously being reconfigured for different applications. In the photo at the left, for example, our flexible rail-mounted casework easily adapted to a new configuration when the room was converted from a chemistry classroom to an earth sciences classroom.

Year-round schools and evolving scheduling systems have impacted the type of casework teachers need to do their jobs. As more and more teachers and students share the same space, there is an expanding requirement for solutions that offer efficient storage. A bank of storage trays in the photo below, for example, offers personal storage space within a widely shared classroom. Tote tray guides can be moved and adjusted to accommodate different numbers of trays.

Teachers are now moving from room to room as often as students. There is an increased need for movable cabinets that act as a teacher’s office. In some schools, teachers are not only assigned a room; they are also assigned a cart for their materials. TMI provides mobile units that contain drawers and compartments for supplies; are engineered and built for easy mobility; and have the durability to withstand frequent movement.
