Science lab layouts are designed to accommodate supervision of individual or partnered project work or large group instruction. When the room is open visually, the instructor is able to maintain a sight line across the entire classroom. Educators who have used our fixed modular and flexible rail-mounted casework have found it to be exceptionally effective.

TMI offers science labs with double-faced frame assemblies which may be combined with fixed modular undercounter units. They may be used to create free-standing geometrical student stations, or they may abut perimeter storage to provide double-faced peninsula stations. All assemblies will accommodate utility runs, provide desired knee space, and support selected work surfaces.

With the increasing need for electrical services in science labs, we can accommodate specialized requirements such as ground fault interrupter, dedicated, or emergency power. Access to these services can be provided through a variety of means including wire mold, turrets, or cabinet face installation as in the photo to the right.

Another major concern in science labs is the stability and durability of work surfaces. TMI and its dealers provide epoxy resin countertops and sinks, supported by epoxy powder coated heavy gauge steel brackets. The epoxy resin is 1” thick, monolithic, with eased or marine edges. These countertops are designed and built to withstand abuse and spillage of strong chemicals. They provide excellent chemical, heat, abrasion, and moisture resistance.
