Commitment to Function

Casework and architectural woodwork, once regarded as mere storage containers, have become integral components of nearly all aspects of the work process itself. There is a tremendous responsibility on the part of casework manufacturers such as TMI to understand, appreciate and accommodate the functional requirements unique to each installation.

Consider the fire station kitchen shown at the left as an example. Its functional, spatial and durability requirements are much different from those of an employee lounge or a commercial kitchen. Not only is it subjected to around-the-clock usage, it also needs to withstand and support the dual role of kitchen and social space. Most importantly, congregating firefighters must be able to quickly clear out in an emergency without running into obstructions or one another.

In an environment such as this, even things as simple as coat racks have uniquely important access requirements. TMI designs, engineers and builds products with a heightened sensitivity to the real world issues of each application.

TMI also accounts for specialized physical and/or organizational storage requirements. The size, variety and weight of ammunition inventoried at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (shown below) demonstrate this in a rather unique way.
